On the occasion of the first International Exhibition of Food for Restaurants and hotels held in Hanoi on November 29th, 2018, the Vietnam Testing Laboratory Association (VINALAB) combined with UBM Organizing Committee – ASIA – SES Vietnam Exhibition Services Co. Ltd organized one seminar with the theme: “Ensure food safety for restaurants and hotels” at the International Exhibition Center (I.C.E) No. 91 Tran Hung Dao.
Speakers at the workshop came from VinaCert Certification and Inspection Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Food Safety Technology Association, Food Safety Department and GS1 Vietnam. About the participants, there were representatives from related enterprises and organizations specialized in food production and trading and some other interested parties.
The theme of the reports focused on imported food / food management practices, food safety solutions from farms to dining tables for hotel restaurants, challenges in certificating organic agricultural products. The speaker from GS1 Vietnam gave one presentation on “The role of GS1 Barcode Codes to help ensure food safety for hotels”. The presentation promoted and guided GS1 system for global unique product identification in the process of food management as well as food traceability, contributed efficiency to ensuring food safety.
